Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I chose law as a profession because I wanted to have positive effect on people's lives. Dealing with legal proceedings is often confusing and scary, and it is extremely satisfying helping people achieve peace of mind and a solution that works best for them.
What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?
Both of my parents are involved in the legal field, and I have grown up with a great respect of the of the law and the legal profession. I believe my upbringing has given me strong basis in how I live each day. I always try to be the best I can be and give a 100% in everything I do.
What made you choose your primary area of law?
My father, Daniel McGookey, founded McGookey Law Offices, and has been serving the legal needs of Ohio residents for over 32 years. For the past 3 ½ years, he has practiced in the area of foreclosure defense, and I quickly developed a passion for this area after I graduated from law school in 2010.

Describe your ideal client.
The ideal client is a person who is honest and communicative. No attorney can properly represent someone that is not giving them the information required to protect their interests. Further, it is important that there is an open line of communication between the attorney and client at all times. There are frequent developments in any case, and it is essential that the client is accessible to discuss those developments. Further, it is essential that I am accessible to clients in order to discuss questions and concerns.
Describe your personal interests and hobbies.
I love to run, cook, and spend time with my husband and dogs. I also enjoy doing projects around my home. There are a few HGTV shows that I really enjoy, and I probably know enough just to be dangerous.
Describe your charitable activities.
I am a dog lover, and when I am able to do so, I help dogs in need either through fostering or dedicating time and helping with adoption events.
