What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?
On a professional level, the opportunity to work with and teach highly skilled trial lawyers from around the country through the Trial Lawyers College founded by trial lawyer Gerry Spence. This experience has allowed our firm to stay on the cutting edge of innovative, successful trial methods.
On a personal level, I love to travel and had the pleasure to live in England for a couple of years. The differences in justice around the globe makes me firmly believe in our system of trial by jury and inspires me to fight for those who have been wronged.
What made you choose your primary area of law?
I was drawn to a specialty that allows for and demands much interaction with people. I thrive on meeting people, solving problems, standing up for those less powerful. Being a trial lawyer, to represent people who have been hurt through no fault of their own, and help them to get back on their feet, is a perfect fit.
What makes your law firm unique?
We have purposely kept our firm small. Most of our support staff has been with us for years, we have little turnover, and we are like family. It is a team effort when we work on a case in an informal yet high energy environment. My partner and I have worked together for nearly 20 years and have been friends even longer which adds to the highly successful work we do on behalf of our clients.
Describe your personal interests and hobbies.
I love to travel. The more exotic the place the happier I am. I am a reader and a gardener. I learned to row a few years ago and now scull several times a week on the river.
