What made you choose your primary area of law?
Legal issues rarely, if ever, can but put in only one “bucket". Because of this, I’ve sought to maintain broad but deep knowledge and experience in multiple areas of law, to best serve my clients’ wide-ranging legal needs. In particular, the areas of Probate and wealth preservation, Business, and Military law have always been of strong interest to me. I recognize that as the US population ages, more and more financial and personal issues need to be addressed in a timely fashion and with kindness and consideration. Medicare and Medicaid affect all of us, especially those who are on the leading edge of the “Baby Boom". From my time with the JAG department of the US Air Force, I’ve seen how military involvement can substantially impact domestic relation issues, financial issues, business issues, and estate planning issues. My broad range of experiences in probate law, military law, and business law allow me to direct the “Price Law Firm" team to achieve the best resolution possible given the particulars of the individuals involved.
What makes your law firm unique?
The practice of law has been gratifying for over 30 years. I have been actively engaged in the private practice of law in here in central Ohio and also a senior partner and leader in one of the world's largest law firms: the JAG Department, United States Air Force.
My broad range of experiences in law, the military, and business allows me to coach the Price Law Firm team to acheive the best resolution possible given the particualrs of the individuals involved. My service in the Air Force as an Attorney (JAG) and Officer all over the world not only gave me the opportunity to serve our Country, but helped me to maintain a "big picture" view of legal concerns and develop leadership skills.
Legal issues rarely, if ever, can be put in only one "bucket." For example, one's military service substantially impacts domestic relations, financial, and estate planning issues. I view my job as your Lawyer as “problem solver". Frequently a Client not only does not know the answer to his/her difficulties, but, in many cases, he/she does not know the question(s). A lawyer’s job is not to make decisions for clients but to give sound clear and concise legal advice after learning all of the relevant facts and circumstances and after considering the applicable law, rules and regulations.
I use the “team" approach to every client’s issues. My law firm is composed of wonderful talented individuals who assist me in the delivery of quality legal services. This approach means that there is always someone at the Firm who can assist you and at the best possible cost. We identify your needs and deliver quality service to you.
Describe your ideal client.
What is my ideal cient? One who talks to me, listens to me, and helps me reach the best overall results possible. Talk to me. Tell me what is bothering you. We will come up with a COA, that is, a Course of Action. It will be multi-faceted. You and I together with the entire Price Law Firm. The lawyer cannot do it alone; your active involvement is critical. Once we come up with a comprehensive plan, we follow the plan. Like in Flying (I have been a pilot over 25 years), in SCUBA diving (which my entire family has enjoyed for 20 plus years), Plan your fight; Fly your Flight Plan! Plan you dive; dive your plan! Plan your legal solution; Execute the plan!
Describe your personal interests and hobbies.
I have always had diverse interests and experiences: Military service, Flying, Cars, SCUBA, Boating, Skiing, Golf, Hockey, real estate ventures, business ventures, traveling. My wife Linda and I just completed a “Sabbatical" by traveling the country for over a year in a motor home (but still always in touch with the office and clients electronically). We returned to the practice, refreshed and reinvigorated.
Describe your charitable activities.
I provide Pro-Bono legal services for International Child Care and St. Joseph's Montessori School. In addition, I actively support St. Charles Preparatory School, the Columbus Bar Foundation, the Homeless Families Foundation, and ArtSafe. I also sponsor the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at an annual charity Bowl-a-thon.
