25 years in employment law representing employers and employees with a significant concentration in school law and student/parent advocacy.
My initial legal training was in large corporate law firms including the former Clark, Klein & Beaumont in Detroit and Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur in Columbus. I opened my own practice in 1991. Since then, I have been associated with various attorneys from time to time. From 1997 to 2001, I was a partner of Blaugrund, Herbert & Martin. I am currently a solo practitioner.
Worrell v. Multipress, 1989 Supreme Court case recognizing the right to front-pay in a wrongful discharge matter, Johnson v. Kroger, Sixth Circuit case on evidence in race discrimination cases, Hoover v. Circleville, Sixth Circuit case on evidence in a public employee free speech case, Cearley v. COTA, class action wage and hour case on overtime exemption classifications, many other published decisions.

As a teenager, I was interested in the Women's rights movement. I studied this, sociology, and political science in college. Becoming a Labor lawyer incorporated these areas of interest and seemed like a profession where I could make a difference.
Working representing both employers and employees. Each side approaches a dispute with a different perspective. Becoming familiar with these differing perspectives helps with the counseling of clients as well as the ultimate negotiation of the resolution. Of course, nothing is better than the years of experience dealing with a variety of clients, opposing counsel styles, and the courts.

Because of my experience, I can generally give sound counseling and advice quickly without the time-consuming and expensive research done in other firms. I am proficient in what I am doing which translates into good legal work for a reasonable price.

At this point, my life focus is my 11 and 13 year old son and daughter and their activities and education. One of my personal interests is world travel; I've traveled to China and South Africa as part of a group of employment lawyer ambassadors for People to People, sharing methods and ideas with labor attorneys from all over the world. My hobbies are cycling and outdoor activities, gardening, books and films.
I am very active in Leadership Dublin, serving as a Chairperson of Community Service Day. Community Service Day is an annual event in which 500 volunteers are organized to clean up the yards of senior citizens and city of Dublin property. I have also served as my daughter's Girl Scout Troop Leader for the last 4 years and our troop has a great time camping and taking educational field trips together.
