Why did you decide to become an attorney?
To make a difference. As an attorney we are asked to help people through some of the most difficult times of their lives. Our responsibility to our clients is great because the role that we play is great. I am proud to work in a profession that can impact the lives of regular people so significantly.
What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?
My work in the community has helped me to not only improve my skills as an attorney, but also to become a better person. I greatly enjoy the part that I have played in the reduction of poverty and in the fight for equality, and consider those experiences to be some of the best of my life.
What made you choose your primary area of law?
I believe that my work as an attorney representing individuals allows me to have the greatest impact on society.
What makes your law firm unique?
We combine significant litigation experience with a desire to achieve justice for our clients.
Describe your ideal client.
I do not expect my clients to be “ideal clients.” All that I ask of them is that they be candid and honest with me, and that they be willing to listen to my advice and suggestions.
Describe your personal interests and hobbies.
I enjoy playing guitar, singing, reading, and a variety of outdoor and athletic activities (mountain bike riding, road bike riding, swimming, volleyball, racquet sports, etc.). I also enjoy traveling and experiencing other cultures.
Describe your charitable activities.
I serve as a board member of several charitable and social/professional organizations, including the Central Community House, American Constitution Society, Equality Ohio Equality Council, and others. I am also a member of The Harmony Project, a local chorus project whose primary objective is to assist local charitable organizations by raising money and volunteering for specific projects.
