Get to know me:
Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I've always had a desire to help those in need of assistance. My desire to help others led me to my degree in social work from the Ohio State University. However, while at OSU, I became interested in the law. I had always enjoyed arguing for what is fair and right and fighting for the underdog, so, quite naturally, I ended up in law school.
What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?
I've developed strong research and writing skills, which has helped me to be more successful in conveying and winning legal arguments. I take great pride in my ability to objectively review the facts and successfully argue my position. I began my practice as a civil defense attorney but soon discovered that I was on the wrong side of my beliefs. As a result, I was fortunate to begin with this firm where I could fight for fairness and justice for the average citizen.
What made you choose your primary area of law?
I am a proud graduate of Columbus Public Schools and the solid education I received there is one of the reasons I represent and support public school teachers today. As to why I represent injured persons, my time as a defense counsel made me realize that many people who are injured by the negligence of others were not be adequately compensated by insurance companies. As a result, I began practicing plaintiffs' side of personal injury claims.
What makes your law firm unique?
Our firm is unique for a variety of reasons. First, we each respect one another and work as a team of lawyers rather than individual lawyers in a firm. We believe that by truly working together, we are better able to utilize the experience and talent brought by each of our attorneys to provide our clients with the best and most comprehensive legal represention. Second, client satisfaction has been a top priority for over 25 years and continues to be what drives this firm. Third, we are committed to excellence through integrity and hard work. Fourth, we communicate with our clients so they are comfortable with and know what to expect throughout the entire legal process. And fifth, our team of experienced attorneys work together to offer our clients a diverse range of legal services and individual attention in an efficient, cost-effective manner. All of the attorneys in this firm are dedicated to protecting the best interests of our clients and their families.
Describe your ideal client.
The ideal client of this firm is someone who has been wronged and seeks justice.
Describe your personal interests and hobbies.
I am devoted to my husband, son, and daughter who are the center of my life and enjoy the time I spend with them. I am a member of a very close, Italian family and spend as much time as possible with my parents and siblings, all of whom live within minutes of my home. I love all animals, including my two misbehaving Golden Retrievers, Beauregard and Alexandra. I also enjoy reading all types of literature, everything from the classics to romance novels.
What charitable organizations do you support?
I am a regular supporter of the Special Olympics, St. Jude's research hospital, and animal welfare groups.
