I could cite a number of legal and educational accomplishments, such as graduating with honors from law school, receiving various awards, etc., but the accomplishments I am most proud of (other than my own my children, of course) are when clients tell me how much I've helped them and then refer their friends and family to me.

I feel very passionately about helping people navigate their legal issues in the most personalized and cost effective way possible.
Being an attorney is a second career for me. I graduated from Miami University with a degree in English and spent ten years in the communications, advertising and public relations fields. I also worked in the mental health field as a paraprofessional and received numerous hours of training and experience helping people in personal crises. Believing that I could make a greater impact on my world by serving people as an attorney, I went back to school and quickly gravitated to areas of law that served the needs of families.
Galloway v. Khan, which dealt with a divorced parent's right to travel internationally with his children following divorce.

My professional and personal background have enabled me to build the skills necessary to be effective in working with my clients, the courts, and others involved in the legal system. To my clients I offer the compassion and empathy that only first-hand, personal experience can bring, while at the same time remaining objective so that I can provide realistic counsel on the potential outcomes of their cases. It is always my goal to present all of the options to my clients so that they can make the best decisions for their own lives.
I would answer this by saying that any client is an ideal client as long as he or she does not want to fight simply for the sake of fighting.
With three adopted children from China, I don't have much time for hobbies. We are an active family, with swimming, soccer, horseback riding and other classes and activities going on daily. To de-stress, I like to jog, swim, lift weights, read, listen to music, and travel.
Many of my charitable activities revolve around international adoption. I have also been involved in various pro bono projects of the bar associations to which I belong, such as representing children in cases of wrongful social security disability termination. Most recently, I have enrolled to receive additional training so that I can provide pro bono services to families who are victims of predatory mortgage lending practices and foreclosures.
